Why are CEOs portrayed as Corrupt and Greedy?

In today’s literary world CEOs are rarely portrayed as compassionate individuals. The lobbies for corporate America and the news agencies pandering to big business often defend CEOs as morally and ethically sound individuals. They ask, “Why are CEOs always portrayed as bad people?” To the average individual this question seems reasonable. Most reasonable people will agree that things are never black and white. Not all Muslims want to kill Americans and not all CEOs would sell their mother’s kidneys to buy a better cigar.

You are now thinking that I am exaggerating. No one would sell both kidneys for a cigar. Maybe a liver for a new Mercedes would be a better analogy.

CEOs are portrayed as greedy, ethically challenged, snakes because they are. These individuals have forgotten or never learned the concepts of honor, word, or compassion. They are the equivalent of slave traders. They do not care about the consequences of their actions as long as they make a buck. The primary justification is, “If I do not do this someone else will.” This is not just an opinion. I always view the world through actions. Words mean little to me. If a tree bears apples, it is an apple tree. The CEO can say all he wants that it is a pear tree. He can run huge marketing campaigns and even show his passion for the apple bearing pear trees but it is still an apple tree. This strong characterization is evidenced by corporate America’s actions.

Liz Moyer with Tatyana Shumsky of Forbes.com writes:

Bank of America told thousands of its cardholders in recent weeks--even those with good payment histories--that they faced a rate hike from 9% to as high as 28% if they didn't pay off their balances at the old rate and stop using their cards. The bank, the largest credit card issuer, since its 2006 acquisition of MBNA, says it's all part of its "periodic" review of customer credit risk.
...
Bank of America (nyse: BAC ) gives card holders the chance to opt out of the higher rate by paying the account off, but such a request must be made in writing.

This is wrong. This is the reason why we need greater regulation of the financial sector. If Bank of America wants to change its rates on a revolving account it can do this but it cannot change the contractual rate for previous purchases. It also cannot require those in financial difficulty to pay off the entire amount to avoid the higher rate. For the rich, paying off the amount will not be difficult. For the family, massacred by the disastrous policies of Reaganomics, paying of the amount is just not an option. This means that they will now pay usurious interest rates even though they have been regular in their contractual agreement. This operation, to be followed by all of the institutions, will create a new group of slaves in bondage to the financial institutions.

Most of these debtors are good, hardworking people. Whether or not they have met their contractual obligations is not important. They will find themselves in the position to work indefinitely for the financial institutions or declare bankruptcy. We should not be surprised that the new bankruptcy laws will not allow credit card debt to be written off entirely.

These immoral and unethical actions are the fruits by which we can measure the moral fortitude of our business leaders. We cannot allow these individuals to hide behind corporate structures. It seems that today the outrageous is widely accepted. We raise independent thinkers and those who stand out to the highest pedestals. Raising the mignons of corporate America to star status undermines our country and destroys the hope that is the American Dream. These individuals must be set apart and publicly ostracized. No matter how much money these corporate elites have or command they must be put in the streets and locked in stocks and pillory so that those whose lives are forever maimed by their actions can show their displeasure. Perhaps after a thwacking CEOs would learn why the good of the many is more important than the needs of the few.

Time to Change – Eliminate all Incumbent Politicians

Today I suffered through a couple of hours of Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke testifying to Barney Franks and the House Financial Services Committee. It was evident that the current administration is beginning to talk about how bad the US economy really is as they prepare for a change in the Whitehouse in the next elections, but that is another story. Listening to the representatives speak evidences that career politicians talk in sound bites and do not have the mental capability to support a single argument.

A Latino representative, I could hardly understand his English, asked about outsourcing of American jobs. He blamed the Republicans for allowing corporate America to drive down wages. He then moved immediately to ask what would happen to the US economy if all the illegal immigrants were sent home. He wanted Bernanke to say, “Sending all of the illegal immigrants home would destroy the US economy.”

Bernanke simply indicated, “Dislocations of resources would be the result.”

His answer should have been, “Reduced labor against stable demand would raise wages and benefits for the workforce!”

The real sad point, one that makes me think we must eliminate politicians and replace them with normal people who have no political experience, is that Bernanke is politically correct. If he had responded as an economist, the reason for which he was appointed as Federal Reserve Chairman, our Latino Representative would have looked like an idiot because in one breath he wants to protect the American worker. His very next breath is used to support open borders which reduces wages, benefits and working conditions for American workers.

A black representative, I believe we are still allowed to use the adjective black, asked a question about inequality. He wanted to know why blacks have twice the unemployment rate as whites. He said the game was stacked against blacks since to make it in today’s world you must have a college degree. If you are poor a college degree is 10 times harder than if you are a little white girl whose daddy is going to take out a loan on the house to pay for her college.

The representative surely was promoting some legislation to give more money to black students. This is stupid because it will only pass if you get a lot of white guys to vote for it.

Why is this representative not taking on the real problem?

Why do students have to pay to go to school?

Consider that even Ethopia offers free University education. If we want to create equal opportunity we must have free healthcare and free University for all, not just some group. Singling out a group of individuals increases dependence on the welfare state. We should not be latinos, blacks, whites, etc. We should be Americans. Our representatives, even if they speak Spanglish, should represent this country, as a whole, in good faith.

WE THE PEOPLE must take back our country. We must vote out of office all incumbent politicians. We must eliminate the Electoral College. We must institute national referendums. We must have a way to make our government fail when it no longer represents the people’s wishes. We must eliminate lobbies.

International Labor Day and screwing the US citizen

Somehow it seems appropriate that national demonstrations would occur on May 1, International Labor Day. While this celebration is based on horrendous atrocities propagated by a former president of the US against the middle class workers, the rest of the world has adopted this day as an opportunity to express their desire for social change. Across the US illegal immigrants are protesting for their “rights” to be legalized through Amnesty since they were able to illegally enter the US without getting caught. It also seems appropriate that just as Grover Cleveland killed striking US workers in cold blood that this day would be used to kill the US worker by passing legislation to open up US borders to the floods of less fortunate from around the world.

In a time where the US economy is under performing the rest of the world our politicians want to guarantee an inexhaustible source of slave labor to corporate America. These same politicians and business leaders are proposing cutting or eliminating contractual benefits already paid for by the working American. They are also proposing cuts to healthcare for injured military personnel, otherwise we will have to raise taxes. We can subsidize corporate America, going to war to protect American interests (read business investments in unstable parts of the world), but we cannot raise taxes on the corporations to pay for the services they are receiving.

Screw the American worker, we can always replace him with an immigrant from another country! We should be demonstrating in the streets. Protesting against corrupt politicians. Protesting against collusion between Government and Business. This is our country. Today we vote and our vote needs to say that we will not allow these politicians to continue to go against the will of the American people. Vote against any politician supporting Amnesty. Vote against any politician not supporting securing our borders. Vote against any politician not actively working to free our border agents unjustly convicted for doing their job.

Closing the Employment Study

Busy times and important decisions have been the basis for the last several months. I have been visiting and learning about my birth nation, these United States of America. I have traveled from the Redneck Riviera to the Capital of Corruption. I have discussed, over fried oysters and shrimp washed down with the king of beers, the frustration of the Baby Boomer. I have debated, to Beef Wellington and Banana Fosters accompanied by a local wine from Virginia, the ills of corruption and cowboy capitalism. I have concluded that we are all the same. No one really cares about where we are or where we are going as long as they feel they can make a buck along the way.

Well, thousands of resumes have been sent. Recruiters have contacted and interviews conducted. In the end what can I say? There is no shortage of qualified labor. I was turned down, or should I say merely not contacted, for every position. There may be a shortage of cheap slave labor. A need for people who will do what they are told and never raise questions or, worse yet, have the mental capability or charisma to help other workers act in their own best interest. Companies, in the highly competitive world of technology where smarts should be the name of the game, can afford to let qualified people, with significant experience get away.

Why did I decide to do this project or write about the current situation in the US? It does not change anything for me. I will be just fine and my children live in Italy. I am not a masochist, I simply love my country and I feel a responsibility to the nation where I was born. I did not serve in the armed forced. The draft had just been eliminated when my turn came. This is my way of serving my country. It is a way to give back. I feel every individual has a responsibility, not only to his family but also to his country and to the progression of the human race. The greater the talents received, the greater the responsibility.

Many think of me as looking for the bad in this great nation. The government, most likely, has listed me as subversive. I can live with that. My efforts may be in vain, but I will write, even risk being blacklisted on the no fly register, to offer a different view of our nation. I believe the country is made up of WE THE PEOPLE. I believe that this is our country. I believe that the government’s sole responsibility is to enact the will of the people. I believe that every politician must, at the risk of his career or the corporate perks, vote the will of the people. We are not the ignorant mass. We, as our ancestors, have sacrificed for this country. It was built on our blood, our sweat, and our talents. We must overcome all who want to give away our birthright but to do this we must have valid information. I will do my small part.

Increase Immigration’s Quotas: We need more slaves!

This week the congress held hearings on the HB1 Visa quota. They heard Bill Gates say, “There is a tremendous shortage of qualified workers in the US market.” Later the CEO of JP Morgan added his voice, “America’s dominance in the world will fail! We must have access to more educated workers.” Bush sat silently by as Mexico’s President ranked on the US for enforcing some of immigration and labor laws for those poor immigrants who are “doing jobs Americans will not do.”

This is scandalous but I had an experience that greatly disturbed me this week. I met a gentleman in his early 50s. After 20 years of marriage he had just gone through a divorce. In the settlement, his cleaning business was assigned to the wife. He is out of a job. As he told me his story of how he was willing to take any job at any price I could offer him no comfort. His final thoughts deeply disturbed me, “I have no future, I see no way out. The only thing left to do is to end it all.”

I was tremendously taken back. I knew, from my own experience, that his prospects were null. A man who had worked all his life, paid his taxes, paid social security and done the dirty jobs, has no future. I have not been able to write about this until today. Only today my sensibilities became numbed enough to express my thoughts.

There is no shortage of workers. There may be a shortage of slave labor. Companies still ask for credit reports for store clerks. Companies still hire consultants (read freed slaves immediately post Civil War) for jobs that are part of their core business. Companies still respond, “due to the immense volume of resumes we receive we cannot respond to each applicant.” While employment conditions remain at current levels we can safely say that the labor market is flush with untapped capacity. In other words, unemployment is high.

Further evidence of the disastrous condition of the US employment market is that while jobs are being lost, unemployment figures are not moving. Further evidence is that unemployment claims are diminishing. The reason for this anomaly is that there is an underground job market that does not show up in the data. The loss of jobs is not increasing unemployment figures because these workers were not counted in the official data. Government watchdogs estimate that real unemployment is from 8.9% to as high as 12%. This does not include the underemployed workers. These facts are corroborated by the fact that 1% of Americans are homeless and that 33% of the US population is “food insecure!”

While I knew the problem in the US was bad this gentleman and his desperation brought home the concept. The US prides itself on its moral backbone. Religion is about hope, empathy and compassion. Every person needs to look inside their soul and determine if they are ok with the way our government and our duly elected representatives are conducting business. The government is the face of a people. Corruption, greed and lack of ethics in government indicate that WE THE PEOPLE are corrupt, greedy and ethically challenged.

Corporate America – Terminal Cancer silently killing us from within

Recently I have reduced the number of articles. The reason, our contemporary society is plagued by one primary ill, the dominance of Corporate America in US politics. The unjust utilization of the Department of Justice to reinforce free immigration policy, the hundreds of deaths from food poisoning propagated by industrial food suppliers, 3.5 million homeless Americans, 33% of the population considered “food insecure”, the destruction of the traditional family unit caused by job insecurity and the requirement for families to hold several jobs just to make it by, the decreasing value of education and lack of access to higher education by a growing number of Americans, and Americans dying because of insufficient health care. These are all symptoms of a government run by inanimate entities whose sole purpose is to make money. Business has no place in government.

While the rhetoric is high, please remember that the Democrats are no different than the Republicans. They are equally controlled by corporate America. The most recent example is that the chamber of commerce is writing the Democrat sponsored legislation for immigration amnesty and “border security”. Yes, the association representing corporate America is writing immigration policy for the Democrats. The same entities that are destroying America’s competitive advantage because of its addiction to cheap illegal labor are the Democrats fountain of inspiration for immigration.

The politicians continue to make all of the hoo haa about the war in Iraq in an attempt to make Mr. Bush pay for not considering how important they are. While they go off on personal rants, the US citizen is being raped again. If we want our nation to have the minimal chance of surviving we must remove this festering cancer from our government. No fight is more important, no fight more noble, and no fight more dangerous. Recent legislation has given the Federal Government greater leeway to declare Martial Law. Why would the Federal Government want an easier path to Martial Law? There is only one reason: the Federal Government intends to quell any attempts to give the country back to the citizens. They intend to use military force on the general population.

Impossible you say! President Grover Cleveland used the Secret Service in the Chicago massacre. His reason, to destroy the socialist movement. Hundreds of workers were shot in cold blood while they marched in the streets. Their slogan, “Eight hours for work, Eight hours for the family, Eight hours to sleep.” In most countries, except the US of course, this day is remembered as Labor Day on May 1.

Voicing your opinion about Corporate America is dangerous. The Federal Government will initially imprison you, as it did with the two border agents, and if that is not sufficient the Federal Government will declare martial law. You demonstrate against the government, you die! One great President said, “You have nothing to fear, but fear itself.” Today you must fear the Federal Government. We must act now. We must let our representatives know that we will not stand for this interference by Corporate America in our political process. We must take back our rights as citizens before we no longer have the rights to do it.

We need illegal immigrants Full Employment – Illegal immigrants do not affect Employment

I just finished four hours of Fed Chairman Bernanke‘s testimony before the House banking committee. Obviously the initial remarks were, everything is fine, illegal immigration is the key to our future. Out of the entire discussion I did pick up one point of interest there is a discrepancy regarding unemployment figures, the effects of illegal immigration on employment and wage pressures. The President of the United States, republican politicians and corporate organizations continue to offend the American worker by stating that illegal immigrants do jobs that Americans will not do.

I am an American. I have had many jobs over the years. I cannot really think of many jobs that I would not do to be gainfully employed. I have even heard business organizations stating that they are offering 35$ an hour for landscapers and cannot find employees. That is $72,000 a year, or double the median wage in the US. Obviously, the organization did not offer any way to contact the organization for the “jobs that Americans were unwilling to do”. Recently I have been interested in a career change so I have responded to a few ads. I found the automatic response from the prospective employer quite interesting: “Given the overwhelming volume of responses that we receive we will not be able to respond personally to each applicant.”

It should be noted that these are highly technical jobs requiring both education and experience. Well, I guess that eliminates corporate America’s “concern regarding the unavailability of qualified employees.” This also leads me to believe that the government’s unemployment data are just wrong. It would not be possible to have “overwhelming” volume of applicants if less than 5% of the working population were unemployed. I am also reminded of the recent opening of the Toyota plant in Texas. The company received over 100,000 applications for 1,500 positions. Add to this the widely publicized Valentine’s Day Massacre where Ford announced it will be firing 10,000 workers and it is only natural to ask,

“If jobs are so plentiful, the labor is restricted, and corporate America’s primary concern is sourcing employees to keep America competitive, why would laying off 10,000 people be a problem. Surely these highly qualified workers will be immediately absorbed in a labor market where unemployment is considered non-existent.”

I found interesting two responses by Mr. Bernanke regarding employment and illegal immigration. The first was in response to a question about full employment. Just for the record full employment would indicate wage inflation. Mr. Bernanke stated that the data did not suggest that the economy was at full employment and that while there have been some gains in overall compensation real wages were still under pressure. Translated this means that there are more people willing to work than there are jobs and that wages decrease to arrive at equilibrium. The second response was a leading question to say that illegal immigrants do not affect the labor pool. Mr. Bernanke simply responded that while illegal immigrants are an important part of available labor their effect on total labor is insignificant.

Now this is where I have a problem. Government data indicates that we have 12 million illegal immigrants in the US however extrapolating the data we can assume that there are well over 24 million illegal immigrants. More importantly these individuals have 2 or 3 jobs. This means that in the best case illegal immigrants represent 5% of the available jobs. In the worse case they could represent 8% x 2 jobs or 16% of total employment. Either one of these numbers, or anything in the middle, cannot be considered insignificant.

We have serious problems in the US. We need to understand the depth of the problem to be able to find a clear and successful path to make America better for our children. “Misleading” the American people only pushes the problem out a bit into the future. Reality cannot be denied. As more and more American citizens are unable to meet their financial obligations the discontent will continue to rise. The more the government “misleads” these same people, the greater the frustration they feel and eventually will revert to more drastic forms of protest.

Already forgot the Voter

Less than three weeks have passed since the election and already politicians have decided the voter’s wishes are no longer important. I feel used, dirty; I need a shower. “Out damn spot, Out!” I scrub with pumas stone and still I feel violated. Enough drama?

The fact is that politicians are corrupt. They believe they can do anything they want no matter what they promise. Joe Citizen is not important. We can cut him into pieces and sell him on the world markets. Even though the Democrat’s leadership promised no witch hunts, we have ever increasing rhetoric about inquisitions and impeachment of this or that politician. In the first 100 hours we will raise the minimum wage. To what?

A measly $7.35 that still does not cover the losses to inflation while politicians increase their own salaries! We will fight Pork spending. So what have they done? In the spirit of true cooperation the Democrats and Republicans reached across the isle to pass legislation with even more pork. Isn’t it great when we all get along.

Politicians are talking about everything except the issues for which they were elected. SECURE OUR BORDERS! SECURE OUR PORTS! STOP COLLUDING WITH CORPORATIONS!

We have serious problems. Unemployment is rampant; wages are falling (no matter what the governmental data says). Politicians have spent the equity our nation has created and placed us with $47 trillion in debt.

It is time for all who love this nation to rise up and fight for what is ours. This nation is not just for the politicians or corporate moguls. It is made up of you and me, working Joes trying to make a better life for our children. Yet, WE THE PEOPLE, are losing the battle. In north Texas 1 out of 8 people does not know where dinner will come from. These are not people without a job. These are hardworking people unfortunate enough to have been reduced to slavery by collusion between corporate America and politicians.

We can win this battle but the time to sit by and watch is over. Every time a politicians talks about their interests we need to shout out what are our concerns and remind them of how and why they were elected. If they will not listen we need to immediately initiate every means legally available to remove them from office. The will of Joe Citizen is clear. Forget the spin and remember you are not alone. Speak your voice, clear and loud, together we can beat political corruption and eliminate the collusion between politics and companies.

Read the Bill – Hope in the fight against the Cancer of Corruption

The most important problem in the US culture today, and the most insidious and difficult to eliminate, is collusion between Corporate America and Politicians. This position seems superficial and out of touch with reality. There are millions of Americans without health insurance, wages are dropping making slaves out of US workers, increasing international tensions are on the daily news, wars and rumors of wars are part of our daily lives so how can this be the most important question of the day.

All of these problems are serious and should be forefront in our minds but they are symptoms of a greater illness, a cancer that has spread into the daily life of every American. This cancer is corruption. It is our politicians taking money for campaigns, perk trips here and there, and vacations all paid for by big business. Why would corporate America, so concerned with margins and bottom line performance give so much money to politicians. The answer is as simple as the first thought that enters your mind, they are buying favorable legislation. Fighting increases in minimum wages, fighting against legislation that would end predatory lending and usury by financial institutions, fighting worker’s rights to organize labor unions, fighting against securing our borders to allow plentiful slave labor, buying cheap access the US military machine to protect their interests, fighting against progress in new energies, are all things that companies are willing to pay billions of dollars to maintain “business as usual”. These are the same things that result in the very problems that are the greatest ills of the American society.

This is not going to change, at least not without some extreme event. The US consumer, no longer the citizen, has been sold body and soul to the corporation. The cancerous cells of corporate interests permeate every aspect of our lives and our government. This cancer is so extended that we cannot eliminate this parasitic tumor without killing the patience. A sad prognosis, some will want to take the easy way out and live out their final days in ignorant bliss, shopping till they drop. Others will fight, every step of the way. Winded, tired and ridiculed they will fight to limit the damage, to win, to survive.

I recently found an initiative that I found extremely interesting. The information is found on Read the Bill. There is proposed legislation that would require that new legislation be published on the Internet for 72 hours before the bill could be open for discussion. I am not clear if all amendments would also have to be published 72 hours before a vote could be called. There are also all of the provisions included that exclude certain types of bills from this law. Most likely those bills would be just the ones we want the most. Think for a moment if the budget had to be published before going to vote, or let’s say increases in politician’s salaries, or say throwing away $2 billion on a virtual fence that would be much better accomplished with good old chain link.

It is a start. Please read what they have to say. Whether you agree with them or not I see no good reason why our political process should be so obscure when our private lives have been sold to the corporations. If the Supreme Court says that the individual, “has no expectation of privacy,” why is it different for the laws that influence our lives and the lives of future generations?

Low Food Security – Food Insecurity

The government has just presented a new report about the health of the US economy. It turns out we are poorer than I imagined. The FDA says that there are two new problems with our country. They are those with Low Food Security and those of Food Insecurity. Translated it means these people cannot put enough food on the table to meet minimum FDA suggested requirements. In other words they are HUNGRY!

You think, “there have always been poor people, goodness get a job.”

Well, the report indicates that these are working families, not homeless. What is more important is that there are 35 million Americans, 12% of our population, who cannot buy enough food to meet minimum caloric requirements. Which means that there are more than 25% that are on the brink. If you think about government data like I do, that is they manipulate the data for their own political purposes, the situation is much worse.

While the Democratic Party is thinking that they were elected to impeach Bush or to hold hearings our country is going, day by day, down the tubes. I do not know how to accomplish this but we need to tell our Politicians, WE ARE POOR. We must accept this so that we can fix the problem. Americans are great because of our capability to take on tough problems, sacrifice and find solutions, but to take on the problem we must recognize it and come to grips that our nation’s equity has been squandered by 30 years of political collusion and self-interest. The United States cannot continue on this path. We need to shore up our economy, reduce our national debt and regain our liberty before we can think about helping anyone else.

Ok, stop, breathe.

With obesity on the rise, some politicians and corporate executives will say this is a good thing. It is a natural diet. I can hear the talk in the after dinner parlors, “Is there a way we can expand this Food Insecurity?” Perhaps Hunger and Obesity are two faces of the same problem. We no longer have local farms. Everything we consume travels through immense distribution centers, picked before it is ripe, salt and flavor added so that it does not taste like sawdust and sold at incredibly high prices. Why are the prices higher? It is simple, in our world of specialization every company must have a return on investment. That increases the price by 40%, for the investor class, for each step along the way. They farmers are squeezed and the consumer raped. It is reverse redistribution of income, from the working class to the investor class.

Others will say, “There is nothing we can do, it is the natural expression of global markets. You do not want us to be protectionists, do you?” Free Trade requires that all costs associated with products or services are part of the base cost of that product or service. Without this primary characteristic, there is no Free Trade, there is simply one side getting a raw deal. At a certain point, if the damaged party does not intervene the damaged party will go bankrupt.

WE THE PEOPLE must do what our politicians are unable to do. We must come together, stand unified, and force our government to take on the problems that are important. Forget the infighting, corrupt politicians and do your job!

Elected Officials - Get on Topic

Well, I guess I should not be surprised. The newly elected politicians, between extravagant lunches, dinners and outings all paid for by corporate America’s lobbyists, are wasting time with this and that hearing about things past. This is not what we elected you to do. Get serious. We have serious problems. We need serious people not self-centered, stuck up, corrupt jerks thinking about the next elections and getting your airtime. Do your job and you will be re-elected. Do not and WE THE PEOPLE will take action. You do not have two years. Every day is important and must be utilized to do the bidding of your constituents.

You probably think you are so cool, pandering to small interest groups. Impeach this, hold a hearing on that, raising your voice to publicly express your disappointment or disagreement with this or that person.

I can hear you back in your office after the news bite, “I sounded so good, I hope Joe Blow got the message. I am out for blood. I will be avenged!”

Who cares? Get over yourself. We have $47 trillion in public debt. A terrorist can kill a million people simply by tainting some spinach. Calling our borders a sieve would be a compliment. People are dying because they cannot get appropriate healthcare. Families are being destroyed because one or both parents have to work all the time and can no longer do the most important job, raising the kids.

Remember the things that are important.

Secure our borders. Finance the fence and pass legislation to secure the remaining unprotected border. When you talk of being strong on national security while an elephant can walk across the border with a Mariaci band playing and television cameras filming without being confronted by border patrol, you look a bit stupid.

Pass legislation making it a felony to hire or harbor illegal aliens, including religious institutions. You say, “These are people they must be treated with respect. We must be compassionate.” Ok, treat them with respect, give them cable in their prison cell. Perhaps our educational system has really deteriorated. When so many “Important People” do not understand that breaking the law is the precursor to being illegal. Perhaps our compassion would be better employed on the millions of US citizens who can no longer get the health care they need even though they have worked and contributed to this great nation all of their lives.

Pass minimum wage laws raising the minimum wage to $8.35 with automatic increases based on real inflation, not CPI. If you cannot see the value of “a fair days work for a fair days pay” then you should not be representing the hardworking citizens of the United States. Perhaps we should have a referendum concerning congressional pay and perks.

Pass legislation requiring all shipments to be inspected by humans with the most advanced technology available. The costs must be paid by the shipper, not the taxpayer. Again, its is all about Hypocrisy and the association of true costs of production. We cannot take liquids on an airplane or use a metal butter knife but we can ship a container with radioactive material and blow-up, lets say, Washington DC. It is idiotic to talk about making the US safer engaging in worldwide politics when we leave our home front wide open. Before thinking about IRAN or N. KOREA, let’s control our borders. I will bet that just about every politician has an alarm system on his home. Why are the rest of us less important?

Pass legislation eliminating all PORK spending no amendments off topic. WE THE PEOPLE are tired of Washington throwing our money away so that they can get personal gain. WE THE PEOPLE are feeling poor, we are working two sometimes three jobs just to make it to the end of the month. We do not care who proposes PORK spending. Stop it completely. No off-topic amendments should ever be allowed on legislation. Remember if our husband or wife spends more than what we have or buys some frivolous item when we are having a hard time paying our bills, we divorce them. In this case, them is not an individual, it is the entire existing political class.

Make Political Collusion a felony with a minimum mandatory sentence of 25 years. I have heard so many times that political collusion is a victimless crime. Bullhonkey! Everyone pays taxes, rich and poor. We pay taxes before we buy food for our kids. Your victimless crimes continue to take food out of the mouth of children. Your victimless crimes make it so that a young student cannot attend the college of choice. Your victimless crimes kill the sick and elderly because they have to pay for your collusion instead of buying medicines. This is manslaughter and should be treated as such.

Define what a citizen is. Legal entities are not citizens. Citizens are flesh and blood.
